Germany: Former German Chancellor Olaf Scholz Honored At SPD Convention In Berlin

June 28, 2025, Berlin, Berlin, Germany: Former German Chancellor Olaf Scholz received a standing ovation Saturday, June 28, 2025, as the center-left Social Democratic Party (SPD) honored his leadership during a pivotal farewell appearance at the partyâ€s federal convention in Berlin. Scholz, who led Germany from 2021 to 2025, addressed hundreds of party delegates on the second day of the SPD congress, leer más reflecting on what he called a "great time" in office and offering support for the partyâ€s efforts to regroup following a historic electoral defeat earlier this year.
