13 October 2026, Bangladesh, Faridpur: Severe erosion along the Padma River has swallowed approximately 1.5 kilometres of Kabirpur village in Faridpur district, directly affecting more than 2,000 people. Homes, a school, mosques, a cyclone shelter and other structures have been lost to the river. Residents are relocating their homes in an effort to protect them from further erosion.
