August 26, 2026, Juba, Ces / Juba, South Sudan: Japan has announced a 2.2 million US dollars contribution to support the World Food Programme ( WFP ) in addressing malnutrition and providing lifesaving assistance to vulnerable communities across South Sudan..The contribution comes as South Sudan continues to face one of the world most severe hunger crises, driven by conflict, displacement, climate shocks and economic pressures..The funding will support WFP efforts to strengthen its malnutrition response and provide essential, lifesaving assistance to vulnerable populations, particularly communities affected by food insecurity and humanitarian emergencies.
