Families Demand Return of MIAs in Jerusalem

January 4, 2019 - Jerusalem, Israel - Bereaved father, SIMCHA GOLDIN, addresses supporters as he stands before a poster of his son, IDF Lt. Hadar Goldin, MIA, presumed killed during the IDF's 2014 Operation Protective Edge in Gaza. The Goldins are joined by activists in handing out 'Qatari Dollars' at the Shuk Mahane Yehuda Market protesting Netanyahu's approval for Qatar to fund Gaza's Hamas public leer más servants' salaries while the remains of IDF Lt. Hadar Goldin and St.-Sgt. Oron Shaul, MIAs, presumed killed during the IDF's 2014 Operation Protective Edge in Gaza, remain in custody of Hamas. The mock bills bear the images of MIAs Goldin and Shaul, the signatures of Israeli PM Netanyahu and the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the statement 'In Hamas we trust'. The transfer of the Qatari dollars to Hamas and the public outcry that followed in Israel was one of the reasons given by former Defense Minister Lieberman for his resignation, leading to the government resignation and to the upcoming April 9th, 2019, national elections. A third installment of millions of Qatari dollars is scheduled for next week.
