Floods In Nepal Relatives Search For Missing Loved Ones Four Days After Deadly Rasuwa Floods

August 30, 2026, Kathmandu, Bagmati, Nepal: A relative breaks down in tears while searching for missing family members at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu, Nepal, four days after devastating flash floods struck areas near the Nepal-China border on August 26, 2026. Some relatives paste photographs of missing loved ones on walls and noticeboards, while others carefully examine photographs and missing-person notices in the hope of identifying or locating their family members. The floods swept through Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts, destroying homes and burying settlements under mud and debris before surging downstream along the Trishuli River. As search, rescue and identification efforts continued, families gathered at the hospital in a desperate search for news of their loved ones. As of August 30, authorities had recovered 734 bodies, while 2,498 people remained missing.,Image: 1129255339, License: Rights-managed, Restrictions: , Model Release: no , Credit line: Safal Prakash Shrestha / Zuma Press / Europa Press
