Children separated from their families by fallen regime in Syria

04 August 2026, Syria, Rankous: Syrian Children play at the home of their 60 year old grandmother Huda Ajami, in the town of Rankous. In March 2024, the former regime arrested her, her daughter-in-law, and her three grandchildren; the children were subsequently transferred to an orphanage, while the grandmother was released after five months. She managed to locate the children through individuals with leer más connections within the state, but authorities refused to return them.
