Children separated from their families by fallen regime in Syria

30 June 2026, Syria, Damascus: A child studies at "Lahn al-Hayat" (Melody of Life) Orphan Care Center in the Qudsaya suburb of Rural Damascus. Melody of Life was an orphanage to which the former regime used to transfer children, altering their lineage records to prevent their families from identifying them. Following the fall of the regime, the new government took over the facility. Under the Ministry leer más of Social Affairs and Labor, the orphanage is now working to reunite the children with their families while providing them with education, care, food, and recreational activities.
