15 May 2026, Syria, Homs: A man stands in the destroyed Roman Theater of the historic city of Palmyra in the countryside of Homs. "ISIS" took control of the ancient city of Palmyra in Syria twice during the war; the first time was on May 21, 2015, and the second time on December 11, 2016 and destroyed the most important landmarks of the temple, the triumphal arch and the Roman theater.
