12 November 2025, Taiwan, Pingtung County: A Formosan sika deer was found lying motionless on the sand at South Bay Beach in southern Taiwan's Kenting area, battered by waves as Typhoon Fung-Wong approached the island. Strong surf and gusty winds driven by the typhoon's outer bands prompted the Coast Guard to cordon off the beach and disperse crowds who had gathered to watch the animal struggling in leer más the surf.
