Jaguar Prowls Festive Enclosure

29 October 2025, US, Seattle: Fitz, a 7-year-old jaguar (Panthera onca), prowls through his festively decorated enclosure at the Woodland Park Zoo. Jaguars are solitary animals, except when mothers are caring for their cubs. They are naturally curious and have large home ranges. In the wild, jaguars can be found in Mexico, Central America, and South America, with occasional sightings as far north as the southwestern states of Arizona and New Mexico. They are the largest cat species in the Americas and the third-largest worldwide, known for their powerful bite. Photo: Shane Srogi/ZUMA Press Wire/dpa
