Sotheby's auction on Napoleon's brooch

24 October 2025, United Kingdom, ---: Undated handout photo issued by Sotheby's shows an old mine-cut diamond brooch, which once belonged to Emperor Napoleon I and dates back to circa 1810, and set to be auctioned for the first time. The brooch, made of nearly 100 diamonds, was left behind after the emperor fled Waterloo's battlefield to return to Paris, and was given to the King of Prussia three days later as part of the trophies his armies took back.
