Demonstration in Ecuador

23 December 2024, Ecuador, Quito: A woman speaks on a megaphone during a demonstration, that emerged after 4 children disappeared in the south of Guayaquil on December 8th. According to the parents' testimonies, the children were intercepted by individuals in military uniforms, who took them to the Taura air base, where they were beaten and accused of robbery. Subsequently, clothing belonging to the leer más children were found at the base, and security footage showed the assault, prompting Ecuador's Public Prosecutor's Office to investigate enforced disappearance, implicating 16 military personnel in the case.
